About Me
My full name is Dreyden Wilde. Most people ask how I got it, and I've heard it's either an endearing combination of my mother and father's nicknames—or the name of my aunt's childhood pet rock. You are welcome to choose.
I grew up in Utah, where I developed a close relationship with the outdoors, but iconic stories like Spirit and Balto single-handedly started my creative journey (who else remembers 'Learn to Draw Spirit' with James Baxter?)
I've found my place in the marketing world (no surprise there), and my daily life consists of writing, family, and food.
What I Love
I love stories in all forms—written, spoken, or acted—and I'm fascinated by how distant worlds can romanticize the things we take for granted.
My joy for food started with artisanal backyard dishes (mud and grass), that grew to full-time baking and cooking for my friends and family. I think nourishing the minds and bodies of those you love is a primal form of appreciation, and the smell of breakfast on a weekend morning just feels special.
My hobbies include writing, photography, Pilates, rock hounding, and slacklining.
The Creative Writing Club
I started doing the CWC because I have a deep passion for writing that I want to share with others. Throughout my life, I've found that writing helps me connect with myself, explore my own thoughts in a meaningful way, and encourages me to tap into the child-like joy that imagination brings.
Most people don’t have time to write. Most of us can’t even set aside five minutes to journal. That’s why the CWC exists: to create community around the act of writing, without the pressure of perfection, commodity, or virality.
